Don't waste time waiting for your documents. The HP LaserJet M2727nf MFP features professional print and copy speeds of up to 27 ppm (pages per minute). Other MFPs need time to warm up before printing the first page, but with no-wait Instant-on Technology your first page will print two times faster than devices without it. And with a stable light source, copy or scan jobs begin in a matter of seconds - even first thing in the morning. Your documents always look great with reliable, high-quality printing at true 1200 dpi.

Customer Rating: Summary: Does Not Properly Receive Faxes with Answering Machine Comment: This machine has very good print quality - much better than the Brother MFC machine that I replaced it with.
The problem is the fax receiving system. If you have just a single phone line, intended for taking both phone calls and the occasional fax, then this machine simply doesn't work in a professional manner.
If you have an answering machine set up on the line, then the fax waits for your answering machine message to start playing before it attempts to receive the fax. In other words, the person sending the fax hears your answering machine message through his fax machine before the fax picks up. This is highly unprofessional, because your fax sender will often assume that there has been a technology problem, and cancel the fax before the HP 2727nf machine actually picks up.
I have experimented with all of the receiving options provided by the machine. This is the only way it will receive a fax with an answering machine attached. All other options terminate a voice call after a certain number of rings, and do not allow the answering machine to actually take a message.
Don't buy this machine if you intend to use it on the same line as an answering machine.
Customer Rating: Summary: excellent for mac os x 10.5 Comment: This is one of the best printers I have owned. The set up was easy and works quickly and prints, scans, faxes and copies well.
Booklet and double side printing make this really useful.
Downside - I cannot scan from Preview and it is noisy.
It works well with iMac and 10.5, some features for Windows are not available but these are minor. Well worth buying. Good for home or small office.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great product, great price with the rebate! Comment: Does everything that I needed it to do and more. A little slow on scanning, but still very liveable speed. Fast print speed, good quality, like the networking and duplex abilities that I did not have before in a very similar Brother product. Better manual paper handling than the Brother as well. Paid $400 through Amazon with a $300 rebate from HP!
Customer Rating: Summary: Not worth the asking price Comment: There are couple of things to consider and I will keep this short and simple concentrating to the negatives.
1. For less than the asking price - you can have a color printer with wireless networking - so you don't have to run an ethernet cable around your house/office.
2. MOST IMP- HP LISTEN - EXTREMELY POOR TECH SUPPORT! - Spent hours on the phone. No help whatsoever with setting this up as a network printer. The department that deals with that is only open on weekdays and that too they are pretty clueless. When we did talk to people - there was very little interest in solving my problem. I think dell used to be awesome - then sort of became a dud like HP and now they are climbing their way out of the hole. Even if you had to pay more and had to make a choice between dell and HP - I would certainly go with dell. Strong tech support (yes I know they used to suck - but now they are back in the game again).
Please once again, stay away from the product because it is only as good as the support behind it and in this case it really sucks.
On the plus side - we have printed about 10 - 15 pages so far and that has gone smoothly. I have not had a chance to use any of the bundled software so I can not comment on it.
Hope this helps.
Customer Rating: Summary: Very slow and unreliable fax functionality Comment: I purchased this machine as a replacement unit for a small size company. We have a lot of incoming and outgoing fax. For outgoing fax, this unit will feed the first page then feed about 1/3 of the second page then wait for dialing. It will not scan the whole set into memory first before dialing. Also, we got a lot of fax communication error pages. Many docs are either received or sent incomplete. I downloaded and upgraded the firmware and it still has fax problem. I contacted HP support using online chat and changed error correction and speed settings and I still have fax problem. Ordered and added 256MB memory and still no improvement. Will return this unit for a different brand.
Other notes: the scan is acceptable but slow and too light. Printing/copy function is ok.
