Summary: Excellent!
Comment: This DVD-RW Drive arrived before the date specified, in new condition, installed easily, worked the first time and every time since. It came with additional software and items - that was a surprise. This is a good investment for anyone looking for an inexpensive and quality DVD RW Drive. I plan on buying more of them when finances allow (I'm a student and finances are minimal).

Comment: This is a great burner. Cheap, fast and dependable. This thing is so quiet it caused me to stare at it because I thought it was broke. Zero coasters this far, plus it burns almost everything. Definetely a good purchase.

Summary: Hardware fine, software less so
Comment: Easy to install, and the drive worked fine out of the box. However, I had problems with the bundled "Nero Essentials 7." I recommend downloading one of the free DVD-burner programs, like StarBurn. Once I installed that, the burner worked perfectly.

Comment: This DVD drive was a replacement for a drive that failed in a nearly new HP computer. I worked in electronics for many years,but I retired 9 years ago and have become a bit obsolete,so I was concerned about getting the drive up and running especially after my computer failed to recognize the new drive. I was really pleased with Lite On's non off shore tech support. They were very easy to understand and they were technically competent. Oh yes as always Amazon's price and service were superior to any other. Why buy anywhere else? And ,no, I wasn't paid for this review!!

Summary: WARNING - Lite-On has no U.S. Warranty Service!
Comment: I bought two of these drives, and both became unable to burn dual-layer discs after a short while (after burning about 30 each). One of them could not burn even cd's reliably a short while later. All attempts to get an RMA from Lite-On have failed - Note that their online RMA form cannot be used by U.S. consumers (it has a place to enter zip code, but requires selecting a country from a pulldown list, and U.S. is NOT one of the available choices.
Emails to Lite-On go unanswered, unless you contact Lite-On in Asia, who will then refer you to Lite-On Europe for service... But Lite-On Europe will refuse to reply to any emails!
BEWARE!!!!!!
