"After Nancy's death in 1995, many radio DJ's across the country kept her music alive by playing cuts from her CD's. But one DJ, Jonathan Schwartz, had access to a special private collection of unreleased recordings that Nancy had given him copies as gifts. Over the years, Jonathan would regularly play these recordings, and every time he did, we would get calls asking; 'Which CD is that on? How do I get a copy of the that song?'. Of course, there weren't on any CD, so we had a lot of frustrated fans on our hands. Several years ago, we set out to rectify that problem by putting together this compilation. Because these songs were recorded in many disparate venues, most with just a live piano, on all different kinds of equipment of varying quality, live in concert, live on the radio, and in small studios in Atlantic City and New York, the challenge was to get them to play evenly so they could be listened to on one CD without losing the dynamic range that was the trademark of Nancy's live performances. We have tried, in every case, to leave the songs as they were originally sung, so with the exception of raising and lowering volumes and a few small nips and tucks, all these performances are untouched. Summary: A perfect tribute
Comment: Nancy La Mott was one of the most popular stars on the cabaret scene, known coast to coast as the artist who best defines this genre. Her mixture of a magnificent voice and a sensitive heart, a spirit that refused to give up while battling the cancer that led to her untimely death and a gift for choosing amazing material, made her a musical legend.
This CD has cuts that were never heard before and old and new fans alike will be enthralled with the honesty of her performances.

Summary: always divine
Comment: For me, this purchase was to further complete my collection of Nancy's work. I had the privilege of seeing her perform live, very shortly before she succumbed to her illness. I'd not known her work before that and I was captivated. Since then I've amassed a comprehensive collection of her cds and they always delight. I'd say the only negative is that I am always reminded of a loss to the performing world. If you appreciate a beautiful voice, singing clearly, you will love Nancy LaMott - also get the dvd - she's a treasure.

Comment: This is an amazing CD! No one can interpret a song like Nancy La Mott! She sings these songs with such heart and soul. Other singers are great like Nancy (Streisand etc) but Nancy has the depth that other greats don't always achieve. She lives on through her incredible voice!

Summary: What a Treat
Comment: A genuinely good selection of songs that Nancy La Mott could perform so well. Whenever I listen to a Nancy La Mott CD, it's difficult if not impossible not to think about her early death from cancer and to grieve over what might have been. I'm glad somebody found these pieces; they fit well with her other CDs.
