Summary: My kids love this game
Comment: Although we have Zoo Tycoon 2 as well, my kids still play the original quite often. They are 10 and 8, they really like making their own zoos and taking care of the animals. They've learned a lot about the various animals, their environments, and what they need. They like how they can make mermaids from the mermaid statue, something they miss with Zoo Tycoon 2. They like the cheats in Zoo Tycoon- The Complete Collection, such as being able to change the color of the guests' outfits.
This would make a great stocking stuffer for the young and young at heart who enjoy computer games.

Comment: I bought this for my grandchildren. They are 8 years old and younger. I showed them the basics and they continued on without constant supervision. They find it entertaining and challenging. The game is well worth the price.

Summary: daughter is extremely happy with this game
Comment: Since receiving this software game in August, my daughter has been playing it nonstop. I would like her to get outside while it's summer, but she can't get enough of the game! I would reccommend this game for youngsters, it was easy to load, and self explanatory that a parent was not needed. My daughter is 12 years old.

Summary: One of the best computer games for kids.
Comment: I bought this game for my pre-teen kids who mastered the controls and goals of the game very fast thanks to the well thought out layout. We never had to read the manual.
To succeed in this game the player has to learn about the animals, design, and build an appropriate display habitat. To top it off, the player has to make money by building an attractive zoo and enough profitable businesses, so the player also has to learn some element of basic business management. You'll be surprised by the levels of records the game keeps on each exhibit or business you build.
I highly recommend this game for junior high or elementary school age kids.
