The 2008 album from Dwele, is Sketches of a Man. This album brings Dwele back to a more gritty, experimental, and non-overproduced sound - one that originally caught listener's ears with his first EP demo Rize released in 1998.

Customer Rating: Summary: Sketches of a Man Comment: Excellent mood music. I love anything that Dwele produces. Big fan from day 1. A unique artist. He is truly blessed.
Customer Rating: Summary: DWELE does it AGAIN!!! Comment: Dwele is a great artist but sometimes is the UNDERDOG!!! I've followed him since he was on the Slum Village joint.......I constantly pump all 3 albums........He's a great artist....My boys, Gritz & Jelly Butter opened for him in Charlotte in July......
Customer Rating: Summary: Smooth, Suave & Funky Comment: Dwele is quite the musician, lyrist, crooner. He is an R&B artist who writes lyrics much like a rapper, the nuances, references to popular culture and uses of popular beats, chords and strings is ingenious. Not to mention he consistantly presents well developed theme with his offerings; Sketches of A Man is no exception. He is one of the few artist who can write a slow song that turns into a funky rhythmic groove and maybe back again. He is quite creative. This product will not disappoint true lovers of R&B from one of Detriot's. Please don't let any negative comments prevent you from adding this classic to your collection.
Customer Rating: Summary: Mediocre at best! Comment: Although I consider Dwele to be one of my favorite neo-soul artists, I was a tad bit dissapointed by this release. It has way 2 many short skits on it and some of the rifts just doesn't make sense to me.
I liked subject , but I feel that Some Kinda was his best release yet and he is going to have to work very hard to surpass it's essence. And he also needs to get rid of all of the foul language, it feels out of place with his jazzy style and it turns away a wide range of what could be his audience. And lastly the composer of the beats to his vocals gets an A+.
Customer Rating: Summary: Jazz, Hip Hop, and RB all in one Comment: Dwele always delivers. I have all of his CDs and have never been disappointed. One song segways into the next. Always outstanding music beats and lyrics that are easy to relate to. This young cat is in a category of his own.
