Greg Howe's highly technical, yet very melodic, guitar style has established him as one of the most innovative guitar instrumentalists of our time and a true guitarist s guitarist. On Sound Proof , Greg has assembled a hot band that has gelled together to create a freshly unified sound. This record is a veritable smorgasbord of hot chops as each player never fails to impress on these awesome jazz/rock/fusion compositions.

Customer Rating: Summary: his best recording yet!!! Comment: Greg Howe is at a point in his career where he's just amazing. This is his best recording yet; no matter which perspective you analyze it from: his playing, compositional skills, or his sound; he's just at his best.
He's also reached a level of maturity that you will not find in any of his earlier recordings; so feel free to buy this album and enjoy one of the finest jazz/fusion guitarists the genre has ever seen!
Customer Rating: Summary: Can't believe I just discovered Greg Howe Comment: Back in the late 80's, the era of shred, I bought albums from Vinnie Moore, Tony MacAlpine, Satriani, and Vai, and although I recall seeing advertistements for Greg Howe's debut album in Guitar for the Practicing Musician magazine, I never bought his album, and had never heard his music until last week when I saw a home made clip from him on Youtube. All I can say is, how in the world could I have been missing out on this for so long? I just bought the album and was completely blown away. The best part of the album to me is how he masterfully crafts these beautiful solos in with this jazz/funk rhythm. The other musicians in this band are awesome, and he is just a terrific guitarist. It's been a while (other than Satriani's Super Colossal) since I have been inspired to get back into purely musician-driven music. Bravo Mr. Howe...excellent album.
Customer Rating: Summary: greg howe is just a master musician playing a guitar Comment: I have several of greg howe's releases. this is another incredible composition! I agree with all the current reviews. if you like greg howe, get this cd. I have my personal favorites like "sound proof", "child's play" and "morning view", but that is a matter of personal taste. ( I especially became "affected" by the movement beginning at 1:06 and then again at 1:52 of the song "morning view." I just had to keep repeating it, over and over. then I picked up my guitar and started playing it. I just had to smile, as I loved the "feel!") there's something on this cd for everyone, and one will have the same experience throughout the cd. greg howe is a MASTER guitar player, but he also showcases his drummer, Gianluca Palmieri, who ROCKS!!!!! as a guitar player myself, I found this cd inspiring, and I just love following the drumming!!!!!!!!!!! greg is smooth, effective and of course, the consummate musician. recommendation: BUY IT! Greg Howe is one of the finest players around. true musicianship!
Customer Rating: Summary: Another fantastic album from Howe Comment: I've been a fan of Greg Howe for ages and really like this new album. I agree with the other reviewer that it's got a similar feel to Introspection--many tunes are jazzier and not as heavy as some past work. But true to all of Greg's music there's a ton of fantastic grooves with lots of detailed and intricate, melodic playing. Greg's just an amazing musician and one of my favorite guitarists. Very solid playing from all the other musicians on the CD as well. If you ever get a chance to see him play be sure to hold onto your seat.
Customer Rating: Summary: Best Greg Howe cd yet!! Comment: This is the most user friendly effort since Introspection. Also the most impressive line-up he's ever had, in my opinion. I liked everything on it first time through. Never too far out there which is just what the doctor ordered. Drummer and bass player are monsters. Best Greg Howe cd yet.
