One of Britain?s all-time favourite, and most convenient, tasty meals Heinz Cream of Tomato Soup first appeared on UK shelves in 1910. Way back then, it was imported from Canada, but when the Second World War broke out, importing products became impossible. Rationing also made it difficult to produce soups in the UK. To solve this problem, we came up with new products making soups out of local ingredients such as potato, lentil and carrot. Many of these varieties are still popular today.
