Comment: I overlooked this movie for years; my favorite being White Christmas from this era. After watching it on TV I decided to purchase it. I'm so glad I did. It's great having the film both in B&W and color. It is now one of my favorites.

Jim Hardy (Bing Crosby) and Ted Hanover (Fred Astair) are two friends who are into the entertainment business, one of them opens up a special resort called "Holiday Inn" which offers quality food and entertainment for it's only open on major holidays like Christmas, Thanksgiven, Licoln Day etc. but there is a beautiful woman (Majorie Reynolds) as they compete to get the girl.

A spectacular and funny musical comedy with great original songs by music writer Irving Berlin and Bing Crosby whom even sang the unforgettable "White Christmas". The plot is a little hard at times but there is great performances from the main cast including some crowd pleasing musical numbers with great dance sequences. This movie went one to be one of the top grossing movies of 1942 for Paramount and an instant classic that later got semi-remade as "White Christmas" in 1954 but this is the better movie in my opinion.

This DVD set contains both the original black and white and colored versions with great picture and sound! a bonus music CD with the timeless Bing Crosby and Irvin Berlin songs, three featurettes, audio commentary, and trailer.
